Micropropagation of Anthurium Spp . through Shoot Tip and Callus Culture

Abstract
The experiments were conducted to establish micropropagation method for Anthurium andreanurn, ¢¥Hazrija¢¥ and ¢¥Ingrid¢¥, for cut flower, and A. scherzerianutn ¢¥Belinda¢¥, for pot flower through shoot tip and callus cultures. 0.5-2.0 §·/L BA was most effective in inducing callus and shoot of A. andreanum ¢¥Hazrija¢¥ from shoot tip culture. In ¢¥Ingrid¢¥, 0.5-2.0 §·/L 2iP induced callus. Shoot and root formation was suppressed in all treatment. In ¢¥Belinda¢¥, only 1.0-5.0 §·/L kinetin and 2iP induced callus and shoot. Combined treatments of IAA, 2,4-D, and cytokinin did not induce shoot formation and callus growth compared with cytokinin test. Gorwth of callus from shoot tip culture of ¢¥Hazrija¢¥ was better with 2,4-D treatment while BA was effective for ¢¥Ingrid¢¥. Callus culture seemed to be a more effective way of micropropagation in Anthurium spp. rather than shoot tip culture.
